The background

God put this book club on my heart in 2022, and my first response was, “No!” I couldn’t understand why He would ask me to lead something like this. I was just beginning to really get to know Him, so why would He trust me to lead others? Honestly, the thought of regularly meeting with a group of women felt overwhelming. I’m still a work in progress as a believer—I’m not yet comfortable praying out loud, and there are moments when I still struggle to fully understand the Bible. I assumed all of that must disqualify me in God’s kingdom, right?

But here’s what I’ve learned: God’s plans often stretch us in ways we don’t expect. Despite my fears, doubts, and attempts to convince Him to give this assignment to someone else, I said “yes.” And through that step of obedience, the book club has become a place of connection, encouragement, and growth. It’s a space where women—myself included—can be real, build friendships, and support each other as we journey toward knowing God more deeply.

Sis, you are welcome here. You are safe here. Let’s grow together, support one another, and share the love of God with every step.
